I’ve always been entranced by the beautiful antique and vintage style snippet roll journals that I’ve seen on pinterest – the ones with photos of vintage girls and ladies embellished with beautiful lace and pearls. But more than the embellishments themselves, I particularly love the idea of having a journal that you can roll up. This style of journal is the perfect way to tell a visual story; one that literally unfolds as you unroll the journal.
In the latest Creative Art’n’Soul Journaling online video workshop, we’ll be taking one of those unfolding journeys into The Untamed Garden. Using a rolled up snippet-style journal, we’ll take a wander down the path and allow the journey to lead us deep into the untamed garden of the imagination where all things are possible – and possibly real. What might you discover in there, deep within the shadows? What treasures are waiting to be found?
Using images and words, fabric and stitch, embellishments and ephemera – you’ll learn how to tell the visual story of what lies within your own untamed garden.
Snippet-style Journals are a fun and easy to make, and are a perfect way to tell a visual story using an unconventional journaling format. These types of journals can be made in any width and length, and then wrapped around, or hung from, a spool. They are a perfect small sewing project for travel, or for times when you only have a few minutes to sit and stitch.
