Stitching together a visual narrative using interactive textile art – Part 2

One of my favorite things about making Fragments is being able to tell a visual story using textile art that is interactive. Sections that flip up or down, open out, and sometimes unroll, provides an opportunity to add more detail to the story in an interesting and unexpected way. Devising ways to include these interactive elements is also fun and creative.
The other day I shared photos of the pocket section of my latest Fragment titled “Do what You Love”. You can see those photos here. Today I’m sharing the photo booklet section which is also interactive but in a different way, using pieces that flip up and over, and open out.

This story begins by displaying a photo printed onto fabric which represents my love of photography and creating beautiful PhotoArt. The imagery is printed onto fabric so that I can easily stitch and sew on it without worrying about it tearing or ripping as sometimes happens when using paper.
