Small and unusual things

These last few weeks I’ve been stitching quite small – this piece is only 2-1/2″ x 3″. But I’m really enjoying the process. When there isn’t much time at the end of a work day for creative activities, making small things can be a good choice. Small things can be completed quickly and the sense of accomplishment can become a catalyst to keep creating.
This is a page from my little stitched booklet although I hesitate to call it that because it’s not really a stitch sampler in the traditional sense. But it does represent the types of stitches I enjoy sewing. I think it’s more important to be who you are rather than try to fit in with what everyone else is doing.

Shisha mirrors are one of my favorite things to sew. There’s just something exotic and mysterious about them that I love.
