After learning from the mistakes I made while making the first fabric bowl, second time round is a charm and this fabric bowl went together fairly quickly and easily. I’m very happy with the results and it certainly adds a new dimension the usual interpretation of the old “fabric bowl”.
This time instead of stitching directly onto the Peltex, I made some fabric paper and stitched on it to create the texture, then attached it to the Peltex. This made shaping and designing a little easier. And I used some wrapped cording to make the decorative embellishments.
I wrapped some wire around the cording so I could shape it into little balls which act as leg stands.
I enjoyed the process of making this fabric bowl and it was nice diversion from working with images and photoshop and quilts. Although I think I might try another one and this time include some images. Hmmmm, brain ticking over with possibilities.

Wow, Linda, this is pretty spectacular. I’ve been following your progress on the bowls, and really love the final result. The new and unusual shape, plus the wrapped wire embellishments, make it really something special. Thanks!
Thanks Linda – it was a fun project 🙂
Looks like a gorgeous piece of art! Very beautifully done!
