I simply love butterflies. They are like beautiful and carefree souls flitting about from flower to flower, just doing what they love to do. For me they represent transition, emergence, and transformation – and the mystery of what all that means. The ending of something old, and the beginning of something new – yet to be revealed.
I start with nothing but scraps of fabric and paper, and other odd things. Leftovers and torn up pieces that others would likely toss in the trash always seem to find a home in each Fragment. A place of belonging.
And much like the story of a butterfly, stitch after stitch the pieces are transformed and eventually the story emerges.
