A balancing act

Life is a balancing act at the best of times but after spending several weeks “taming” my new computer into submission, it’s left me feeling a little unbalanced, dealing with too much technology and not enough creative playtime.
I stitch a little every day though. I make the time to do it, even if it’s only for 5 or 10 minutes. It makes a difference. These days I love to work with Fragments. I’ll be sharing more of these this year.
Fragments: Let the beauty we love be what we do
3 is a number I use a lot in my stitched work. I now recognize it as a symbol. 3 is a magical number. Beginning, middle, end. Birth, life, death. Body, mind, spirit. X’s in squares. I’m not sure what that represents but I like the way it looks and the way it makes me feel.

Our personal symbols, the ones we use over and over, hold special meaning just for us. We doodle them, we stitch them. What these symbols mean to me may not be the same as what they mean for you. And that’s ok. We should hold them close and treasure them, our secret symbols.
