Stick Totem: A Stitched Mixed Media Collage Tutorial + Free Printable

This year my goal is to make a small stitched mixed media collage each day with the intention of making monthly mixed media journals. To make these page quick and easy to create, I’m using pages from my new series of printable journals as backing pages. These pages are perfect for creating mixed media and other types of journals, and they’re also perfect for making small collages that can be displayed in a frame.

“Stick Totem” is one of my favorite pages from my latest Nature Journal (which is still in the assembly stage), and in this video tutorial I explain how you can make your own stitched mixed media collage. This is one of my favorite collages to date and I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

You can see all the journal pages from the nature-inspired series here and you can find additional information about my journal process here.

Download the Printable Journal Page

Download the printable journal page and print it out onto cardstock or other type of rigid paper. This download is for personal use only, and is available as a high resolution image in pdf format for easy printing. The page is sized to print onto letter size paper or A4 size paper. Once printed, cut the page in half. Each half page should measure 5″ x 7″. Use one half page to make the Stick Totem collage, and the other half page can be used to design and make your own stitched collage.

This journal page is part of The Nature of Things Printable Journal Kit which you can find here in my online store.
