Don’t you just love it?
These photos are part of an exhibition called Strich & Faden
… the exhibition project offers subversive travesties of craft and folklore and works that thematize Heimat (heritage), gender roles & identity in innovative or humorous ways.
If you’d like to see more photos of the exhibition, hop on over to Flickr where you can find part 1 here and part 2 here. Gotta put a warning on it though – don’t visit if you’re easily offended – a little naughty nudity and a little wishful thinking on the part of some of the artists.

I think this is absolutely, the most fabulous use of cross-stitch I have ever seen. I would be quite happy to have this in my home. I am going to do this to something somewhere in my house. My daughter would think is so cool too . I’m going to tell her to have a look. My hat is off to the maker/designer. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Going to have a look at the site now. Thank you for showing us this. WOW!
I agree Peta! My husband only recently got rid of his old VW – now I wish he’d kept it – I could have had him out there drilling holes in the thing turning it into a work of art instead of the eyesore that it was. As it is he has a wonderful bunch of smaller junk pieces – I think I’ll have a rummage through them and see what I can come up with.
