How I made my Dancing Hearts Quilt
The quilt blocks
For the main quilt blocks I used a decorative stitch flower pattern to make the hearts, and a loop design to outline the heart shape. I bordered the quilt blocks using an arc design in a black thread on the sashing, and I used a mirror image of the same arc design in red thread on the quilt block. I added some bling to the hearts using heat-set Swarovski crystals.
Decorative stitch “ribbons” can be made by sewing rows of decorative stitch designs alongside each other.
For the border of the quilt I created a decorative stitch ribbon using a flower design running down the center, with a small zig-zag design and an arc design on either side. I finished off the “ribbon” with a small heat-set Swarovski crystal in the center of each of the flower designs.
