Serenity: printing on organza

Image Transfer Art Journal

This art journal page is made using an image printed on organza with an inkjet printer.

Printing on Organza

Printing on sheer fabric offers very creative alternatives to printing on solid fabric. The transparency of sheer fabric allows you to add layers of visual texture that combine to form a unique image. This piece of organza is overlaid onto a piece of silk that has metallic threads woven through, so the sparkles from the metallic thread show through the organza.

Small embellishments are suitable for adding to an art journal as they don’t add too much bulk. These days I’m trying to use up the supplies I have on hand before buying new stuff however I think my supply of embellishments will outlive me.

Printing on Organza

I printed some lettering onto mulberry tissue and cut it up into small prayer flags. Mulberry tissue has beautiful fibers and texture and these prayer flags are the perfect way to display a simple message.
