Last year I learned to say “no” to a lot of things. Things that didn’t really support me in my life or business. Learning to say no can be quite difficult if you don’t do it very often and it takes a little practice, but I like it that I can now be discerning about what I choose to allow into my life.
To balance that out though, I think it’s also important to learn to say “yes” and to be open to new ideas, possibilities and opportunities. But also using a little wisdom or intuition to make sure it’s a “yes” that will bring something positive into to your life.
This year my Creative Explorers and I are working with words, images and symbols with our Vision Card Project. We have one vision card to cover the “big vision” for our entire year. You can see mine here. And then we have monthly Vision Cards to support us with our vision for each month. For January I chose the word “Yes”.
For this vision card I used some paper collage techniques which is something I don’t often work with, but it was a lot of fun putting this card together.

And I added some supportive quotations onto the back from some of my favorite philosophers. (Yes, Dr Seuss is one of them!)

I keep them pinned to my corkboard behind my computer so I can see them every day and be constantly reminded of my visions or goals for the year.

I’ve enjoyed using the “yes” word this month and can’t wait to see what emerges from the experience of using it right throughout this month.
What are you saying *yes* to this year?
