The other day I posted a test piece using cheesecloth on an acrylic “skin”. Today I’m posting the same technique but instead of cheesecloth, I’m using a poly type lace. Even though both fabrics are classified as “sheer”, printing on them has produced *totally* different results.
The lace I used was sheer tulle in places and the flower design had a thread “ridge” around the flower designs; not something you would normally think to print on.

Printing on this type of fabric without using the Digital Grounds produced a nice enough print …

… until I removed the paper carrier.

But the same print using the “acrylic skin” technique, produced a *very* nice print. She’s so pretty ..

.. and the solid design has taken on a new textural dimension. In real life it looks like the print has been printed underneath the lace flower design – a nice illusion.

So thumbs up to lace on an “acrylic skin” backing using Digital Ground for Non-porous Surfaces. I’m liking this stuff more and more!
