Just Dyeing to be Noticed

Tie Dyed ToteAs you know, I’m always on the lookout for fun and interesting tutorials for purses, bags and totes to add to my ever growing list, and I recently came across this cute tote that you see in the photo.

I found the instructions on the Rit website – you know, those people that make the dye in the bottle. I remember using Rit dye when I first got interested in dyeing many, many years ago. I used it mainly because there was nothing else I could get my hands on quickly enough and it was easy to get hold of because it was right there on the supermarket shelf and it was affordable.

But as it turned out, it was also easy to use because the instructions were super simple and they were right on the pack; and the results were just fabulous – you couldn’t go wrong with it! In fact I think I still have some of that tie dyed fabric from way back when.

So if you’re just getting interested in fabric dyeing and are a little confused by it all, you really can’t go past trying out Rit dye, because these days with fabric dyeing being so popular they have SO many different colors and SO many fabulous ideas to get you started.

Stop by their projects section and check out all the lovely projects. You’ll also find a whole bunch of tutorials for dyeing techniques here, and of course you’ll find the tote project here.

Happy Fabric Dyeing!
