Free Purse, Bag & Tote Tutorials

I’ve been working a new project for quite some time and I’m so glad to say it’s finally finished!

As you know I LOVE making bags and purses, and for the last several years I’ve been regularly updating my listings for free purse, bag and tote patterns and tutorials but the list has gotten so large (over 320 links to date) that it was getting difficult to manage them all on this website, so I’ve been investigating a better way to present them to you and as it turns out, the best way was to give them a home of their own!

You can now find all my listings for free purse, bag and tote tutorials
on my brand new website at
www.free-purse-bag-tote-tutorials-patterns.com
Free Purse, Bag and Tote Tutorials

On the new website you will now find lots of different ways to browse and search the listings and the best place to start is visit the “Browse Listings” page.

Also note that I won’t be updating the listings here on this blog any more, so if you want to be notified when new listings are added (which I can now do more frequently thanks to the new setup) the best way to do that is to sign up for the blog email on the new website. You can find the sign-up form here on the sidebar of the new site. This is a different subscriber list to the blog email on this website so all you will be receiving is updates to new listings.

I’ve just updated the listings so there’s a bunch of new links available and you can find them if you head over to the new website and scroll down to the bottom where the archives are listed. Look for the Archives for November 2011.

You’ll find the new website here and make sure to let me know if you like it by leaving a comment. Enjoy!

Some free weekend reading

50 Ways to Leave Your KarmaIt’s easy to find ourselves stuck in life; it seems like there are obstacles at every turn. Usually these obstacles of our own making but it doesn’t make it any easier to find our way out.

I began reading this ebook during the week and I found it to be a beautifully written ebook with practical advice and information written in a way that can really help you get unstuck. Plus, the hand drawings are priceless.

All too often we look for an easy fix to our perceived problems. We become students of life constantly reading and looking for a way to fix things without being aware that all the reading and all the information in the world won’t do a darn thing unless you follow the instructions, take action, and actually *do* something to help yourself. It’s not always easy to make the changes in our lives that we know are best for us, but the alternative is to do nothing and stay exactly where you are.

You can download your copy here although you do have to sign up for their newsletter first. If you enjoy the book then you’ll probably enjoy the newsletter so it’s a win-win situation.

Art Trader MagazineArt Trader Magazine is a free publication for those interested in trading art. But even if you aren’t into trading art or cards, you’re sure to find the articles informative and entertaining – I always do!

It’s always a nice surprise when the latest issue is published – you never know what you’ll find in there, so run right over and grab a copy – it’s totally free!

I hope you take a little “me” time to enjoy your reading this weekend. Very often we undervalue the price of “free”, but sometimes it actually is priceless. Have a great weekend!

Looking Back

Looking Back

I don’t know about you, but I seem to do a lot of internet travel during the course of a week. Some weeks it’s like visiting with your least favorite relative and you can’t wait to leave, but other weeks it’s like Christmas where you get to discover new and amazing wonders. I’ve founds lots of interesting, creative and free stuff this week. Enjoy!

My favorite find of the week. Just for Kindle lovers.

Creative blocks? I have em, you have em. Here’s a toolkit for dealing with them.

Have you reserved your spot yet in the largest online classroom ever? Don’t miss out.

You would never guess that this is done with thread.

Now these are my type of pumpkins!

This just makes my eyes happy.

Looking Back

Do you love sunflowers? This will make you look at them in a whole different way

Things to do with leftover thread (I gotta try this)

In my next life I’m going to do nothing but make felt like this.

Some free masks for photoshopoholics.

I love using sharpies but this is awesome!

And finally – get out of my head! I’ve been obsessed with this video and this song all week.

Ebook chaos and how to fix it

Get OrganizedEvery so often I come across a piece of free software that is *really* useful. It doesn’t happen too often, but I’m always eternally grateful when I find one. And recently I stumbled across a program called Calibre which is an ebook manager.

I love signing up for newsletters from websites that interest me because usually they give away a free *something* like an ebook or a pdf download. Yeh I know, I do it too, but I think it’s nice to give a little (like my Slow Work Manifesto) and get a little back in return (your undivided attention when I send out my newsletter).

But after you download these documents and you don’t have time to read them right then and there, they get filed in a folder or two or two dozen and then get forgotten about. Well Calibre collects all those documents and puts them in a nice neat folder and enables you to actually find things when you want them by categorizing them. I even have a category called “To Read” so I know which ones I’ve yet to read.

But wait – there’s more.

Because it’s not only an ebook manager, you can also use it to manage any other type of file like mp3s, or jpgs like my One Word Cards. And when you install them into Calibre, you can also further categorize them in a Series so everything is super easy to find.

This is a super way to file and find stuff!

I’ve just finished loading in all my ebooks and free downloads – the ones that I actually want to keep – and I have over 350 items so far with more to add. Man, where does this stuff come from!

So if you think it’s time to clean out the folders on your desktop, grab a copy of Calibre – it’s free and usefuland you can find it here.
